Bassett Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1924 and is currently one of Hampshire's leading tennis centres.

The club has a thriving junior section of over 60 members. A mix-in evening is held every Friday at the club when all 4 courts are made available. Group coaching takes place for 4 hours every Saturday morning.

The nature of the junior section is such that there is a continuing change of membership. Youngsters go away to university, college or work and take with them the knowledge and enjoyment gained from tennis at our club.

Each year the percentage of new members can be as high as 30% or more.

Some members are too young to play on Friday mix-in evening but they play at other times with friends and parents. They progress from the start to full junior membership and then, hopefully full adult membership. Many youngsters represent the club in Juniors matches and several have recently progressed to play in senior matches.
